At Jack Adams, we’ve made no secret of our love for Portland, Oregon. Since moving to the city several years ago, we’ve enjoyed its outdoor offerings, revelatory foodie culture, and friendly atmosphere.

We wrote recently about how the Portland outdoors influences our design, but the city itself plays an important role in how we approach each pair of underwear. Here’s a look at how Portland’s evolving urban core has inspired our designs.

LUX Drift Collection

LUX Drift Brief by Jack AdamsWe love our trees in Oregon, so we crafted the LUX Drift Collection from Lenzing MicroModal using Beech tree wood fibers. The result is a luxurious pair of underwear that feels cool, soft, and almost silky to the touch—assuming you feel anything at all.

Perfect for Portlanders on the move, LUX Drift moves with your body, resists shrinkage, and is less likely to fade or pill. It also sports our signature contoured pouch for added support; the pouch helps improve ventilation, stops sweat from pooling, and offers an extra dose of comfort.

LUX Fulcrum Collection

Fun fact: The LUX Fulcrum Collection is an homage to one of our favorite local gym chains in the Portland area.

The gym’s commitment to high-energy workouts, accountability, and a sense of community inspired our fitness-minded LUX Fulcrum Collection. Made from a Lenzing MicroModal, the athletic men’s underwear sports a vented kinetic mesh side panel that improves comfort, keeps you cool, and promotes breathability during long workouts. We’ve also designed the line with a hugging form fit that moves with your body, no matter how intense the workout.

Hayden Brief

Hayden Briefs by Jack AdamsOn a warm summer day, it seems as if half of Portland goes boating or floating near Hayden Island on the Columbia River.

That affinity for the river inspired us to create the Hayden Brief. The stylish underwear sports a bold, blue-and-white stripe pattern in a nod to the city’s boating culture, and the full-cut brief’s premium polyester blend dries quickly if it gets wet.

Hawthorne Trunk

It’s hard not to fall in love with Portland’s Hawthorne neighborhood. Street musicians, some of the city’s most well-known restaurants, and boutique vendors ply their trade along Hawthorne Boulevard, so the neighborhood occasionally feels like a real-life episode of “Portlandia.”

We wanted to echo that lively vibe with our Hawthorne Trunk, which comes in two eye-catching colorways.

The snug-fitting trunks hold everything in place, thanks to a contoured pouch that protects the boys and promises a flattering fit. The soft cotton blend incorporates bamboo and elastane for shape retention and to prevent your trunks from stretching out, and the flat seams are engineered to protect against chafing.

Relay Air Track and Gym Shorts

Relay Air Mesh Gym Shorts by Jack AdamsSoon after moving to Portland, we caught wind of a trend: Portlanders love running. We noticed seemingly hundreds of runners each day in our North Portland neighborhood—and many of those men wore running shorts inspired by the styles of the 1970s.

The Relay Air Track Short is our nod to that style. The slim-fit shorts are made from sports-grade polyester and sport a breathable mesh fabric that helps keeps runners cool and dry.

The Relay Air Mesh Gym Short, meanwhile, is a slightly leggier pair that offers a lightweight, yet durable workout experience. It sports a quick-drying material and easy-to-use drawcord to make working out easier and more comfortable.
